What is included in the pool closing service?
Our professional pool closing service includes lowering the water level, blowing out and winterizing the plumbing lines, winterizing the skimmer, draining the pump, filter and heater/heat pump, and adding antifreeze where required. The service is designed to help protect your pool and equipment from freezing conditions during Quebec’s winter.
Is antifreeze included in the service price?
Yes. Pool antifreeze required for the standard winterization process is included in the pool closing service price at no additional charge.
Do I need a Pool Closing Kit?
A Pool Closing Kit is optional and is not included in the base service price. You can add a Pool Closing Kit to your service for $39.99. The kit helps protect and maintain your pool water during the winter and can make spring opening easier.
Do you install winter pool covers?
Yes. If you already own a compatible pool cover, we can install it after your pool closing. Leaf Net Cover installation is $50 and Safety Cover installation is $85. If you need a new cover, leaf net covers and safety covers are also available for purchase from Aqua Famille Plus-Pool Store. Contact us for sizing and pricing.
When should I close my pool for the winter?
Pool closing season generally begins in mid-September and continues through the fall. The ideal timing depends on weather and water temperature, but your pool should be professionally winterized before freezing conditions can damage the plumbing or equipment. Aqua Famille Plus offers pool closing service periods from September 15 through November 15.
How is my exact service date scheduled?
When submitting your request, select your preferred service period: September 15–30, October 1–15, October 16–31, or November 1–15. Your exact service date and approximate arrival time will be confirmed one day before the service, based on our route schedule and weather conditions.
Do I need to be home during the pool closing service?
No. You do not need to be home during the pool closing service, as long as our team has clear access to the pool, pool equipment and electricity. Please make sure all gates are unlocked and the pool area and equipment are accessible before our arrival. If you have a Safety Cover or Leaf Net Cover to be installed, please make sure it is available and easily accessible for our team.
